Piotrkowska

Piotrkowska Street begins at the Tadeusz Kosciuszko monument at the Plac Wolnosci. Lodz would not be whole without this famous place. This is the main street of our town, perfect for walking. The newly renovated old buildings and palaces make an incredible impression on visitors. Young people are coming from all over the country to party at clubs and have a drink at numerous bars. This street never “sleeps”. Being here you must sit on the "Tuwim bench", and rub that popular poet’s nose for luck. Right here, on Piotrkowska street, the tallest building in Lodz - Stanislaw Kostka cathedral is located.

Ksiezy Mlyn

Ksiezy Mlyn is an informal city district; an old factory complex build and owned by Karol Scheibler. Everything here looks as if the time has stopped over 100 years ago. The old workers’ houses, alleys, and palaces make a unique place.

There will be another branch of this museum opened in Manufaktura. You will be able to see the national and foreign exhibitions created after World War II. Cemetery

£ód¼ is a place of cultural diversity. There is a cemetery located near Manufaktura where Christians, Evangelists, and Baptists are buried. You can find very interesting old tombs such as the glamorous Karol Scheibler chapel. The biggest Jewish cemetery in Europe is located on Bracka Street in Lodz. This is the place were Izrael Poznanski, the founder of the factory complex (today’s home of Manufaktura), has been buried. His tomb is unusually big. It was build based on a circular design 19 meters in diameter!
